WELCOME TO OPTIMAD
Optimad Engineering s.r.l. is an engineering company that works in the field of software production and marketing for the analysis, design and optimization of fluid dynamic devices. Created within the Department of Aeronautical and Space Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino, Optimad offers the academic experience of its experts, developed over the years, to the industrial sector, proposing solutions of high technical and innovative content.
With twenty years of experience, above all in the field of rotating components in fluid machines and the active and passive control of unsteady flows, Optimad Engineering supplies specific consultancy for:
- software solutions suitable for the client and for the project;
- technical training;
- support in the design stage.
From 2009 Optimad Engineering s.r.l. works in the wind energy sector. Optimad is a service provider, offering analysis and anemometry for the wind site evaluation, design and layout optimization of wind farms. |
Optimad Engineering s.r.l. originated from an entrepreneurial idea that involves experts in the fluid dynamics and aerospace engineering fields at the Politecnico di Torino in Italy, at the Université Bordeaux 1 in France and at University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK).
These experts can boast more than twenty years of research activities in the field of numerical fluid dynamics, aerospace propulsion and optimization techniques. In the past they worked, and are still working, with research centres, industry and universities (Boeing, Enel, Airbus, Varian, Munters, University of Southampton, NASA-GE, University of Bristol, EPFL, Technische Universitat in Munich, CIRA, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, ASI, INRIA, National Academy of Sciences Ukraine, The Royal Society, Università degli Studi di Roma La Sapienza, Ècole Centrale de Lyon, Thales Alenia Space, Fiat AVIO etc.) and they have participated in European projects of relevant importance (STREP Vortex Cell 2050 FP6, ALEF - Aerodynamic loads estimation at extremes of the flight envelope FP7, FFAST - Future fast aeroelastic simulation technologies FP7).
